Tuo Ji received her Ph.D. in Physiology from Capital Medical University, China. She then joined the University of Michigan as a postdoctoral research fellow, where she studied bone morphogenetic protein in gastrointestinal injury and inflammation. She then transitioned into stem cell research in Neuroscience, dedicated to study brain development and epilepsy pathogenesis. In 2024 she joined the Kaczorowski Lab to explore the resilience mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases. 

In her free time, she enjoys hiking, swimming, watching movies, spending time with family and playing with her dogs.
