Research Lab Technician
I am an undergraduate student at the University of Michigan majoring in biopsychology, cognition, and neuroscience (BCN) and plan to graduate in 2026. I am also a SURFiN fellow through the Simons Foundation.
Currently, I am working on directly converting fibroblasts into aged neurons. Having an in vitro model system that recapitulates age and sex dependent changes in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) phenotypes can provide a more translatable and valid platform for investigating various cellular phenotypes shown to be modified by sex and genetic background and screening therapeutics. By collecting male and female fibroblast samples from genetic backgrounds shown to be cognitively resilient or susceptible to AD, I hope to provide a valuable model system for screening various therapeutics that have been predicted to enhance cognitive resilience to AD.
Outside the lab, I like taking walks, cooking, and playing video games. One fun fact is that I’m a huge matcha enthusiast
