My name is Zoha Rizvi, and I am an undergraduate student at the University of Michigan majoring in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Biology. I joined the Kaczorowski Lab in January 2026. In the lab, I am studying how variations in neuronal morphology may contribute to late-onset neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease. I am currently under the mentorship of Dr. Shannon Moore, and throughout my time in the lab I have learned how to visualize cell nuclei, stain cells, and imaging neurons with confocal microscopy. Through this work, I am developing a strong foundation in experimental neuroscience techniques and quantitative data analysis, while deepening my interest in applying engineering principles to biomedical and neurodegenerative disease research.
Outside of the lab, I enjoy reading new and interesting books and baking.
